What is a specific source of information that you have found valuable in answering your inquiry question? How has it proved valuable? Explain.

A valuable source that I have used for ZIP is Dr. Seuss’s Yertle the Turtle. This book was the first book that I analyzed for an allegory. I found this extremely eye opening to see how a meaning of a book can be entirely different than what it seems. It was valuable because the allegory behind Yertle the Turtle is so large that it made me interested in finding out about even more allegories. Yertle the Turtle is based off World War II and the main character, Yertle, is based off Adolf Hitler. War is not usually corresponded with children’s books, but Dr. Seuss managed to both discuss war as well as engage his audience. After I analyzed this book, I looked at Dr. Seuss’s books in a different way and I got past the surface of books and was able to see deeper into them. This book also helped me realize that allegories are more common than they seem.
