Did you meet your goals for the project? How can/could you tell? How would you improve on future learning opportunities like this?

My initial goal for this project was to successfully get an interview on Guo Pei and because I didn’t know much about Guo Pei before, to get to know Guo Pei and be able to explain who she is and what she does to someone who knows nothing about Guo Pei. Through my hard work, I reached both goals. Not only did I get an interview, I managed to get two interviews with a Vogue writer and a New York Times writer. As well as, by Night of the Notables, I knew Guo Pei well enough that when people stopped by my learning centre, I could easily give them a summary of who Guo Pei is and get them intrigued into the work she did. However, in the future, I would work more on adding self explanatory visuals so that if there is more than one group at my learning centre, people can tell what my pictures are trying to say. Also, I would also plan out my timeline better so things space themselves out and I can spend more time planning out my presentation.

What will you remember about Night of the Notables?

My first Night of the Notables was a night to remember, however the highlight was the speeches. The Grade 10 speeches were beautiful and made me excited to do my speech next year. All of the 10’s were prepared and in character for the speeches and had my attention through all of them. Another thing is the reaction that people had when I told them all the things that Guo Pei did in her life and all the things that she’s doing. People were shocked that she did so much when she was born with so little. I felt proud that I was able to share Guo Pei with people and show them just how eminent she is.

Who would you like to thank, or recognize for their contributions to Night of the Notables?

I would like to thank all the nine’s for doing a great job at planning the night and allowing it to go smoothly. As well as all the ten’s for presenting their speeches so well and starting off NOTN with a bang. I would like to recognize the teachers for all their contributions as well because they led us through this long but worthy process.

It talks about her childhood, how she knew she wanted to become a fashion designer and how she got to become a fashion designer. This article is a broken interview with Guo Pei herself. It helped me because it allowed me to ‘get to know’ Guo Pei and not just her dresses. It also helped because I was able to interview the writer.
